Bring on the flight delays!

Believe it or not, you may now have a reason to look forward to cancelled flights and lost luggage. On the way home from a recent trip to New York, my flight was cancelled and my boyfriend and I were forced to spend the night in Denver. Hoping against hope that our luggage might have somehow got dumped off in Denver, we made our way to United Airline’s baggage check office. Extremely apologetic and unfailingly polite, UA representatives informed us that our bags were unavailable, and offered us their complimentary overnight kits, which they modestly described as “a shaving kit with a toothbrush” and some “other things” we might need.

We fished a couple of the free black bags out of a nondescript cardboard box in the corner of the office and then made our way to make transportation and accommodation arrangements for the night.

When we finally got to our hotel, I was feeling grimy and tired and wanted nothing more than my Proactiv, Body Shop brazil nut body scrub, a decent meal, and a warm bed – in that order (fellow glamour gossips, I know you understand these priorities). With low expectations, I busted open the UA complimentary shaving kit and to my surprise found it included not only the standard mini toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razor and comb, but also a trial size body wash and body butter from H20+’s Mineral-Replenishing Spa Treatment line.

After a long day traveling and hours spent in planes and sitting around in airports, the shower gel left me feeling invigorated and squeaky clean and the body butter soothed and smoothed my stressed-out skin. The ingredients made me feel extra good about using the products after a long flight. The Sea Salt Body Wash is “infused with sea salt to help eliminate toxins and replenish depleted nutrients” while its “triple tea extracts deliver antioxidant protection.” In addition, the Hydrating Body Butter promised that the green tea, seaweed extracts and vitamin E in its ingredient list would provide “maximum moisture retention and skin suppleness.” The fragrance was fresh and clean – luxurious enough to meet my standards of indulgence, yet unisex enough that my non-metrosexual boyfriend wasn’t the least bit squeamish about lathering up with his share of the beauty loot.

And as one more nice little bonus, enclosed in the kit was a coupon for 10% off any purchase from H20+. I loved the products so much I used my coupon to buy the Sea Salt Sanctuary Spa Gift Set, which includes full size versions of not only the shower gel and body butter, but also a wonderful sea salt scrub as well as my current obsession – hydrating body gloss. The gloss is perfect for spraying on bare shoulders for a pretty, but not-too-greasy sheen. With products like these, you just might want to lose your luggage ;)
