Ok, so I initially bought it because of the cute packaging — as is so often the case (no pun intended). But the more I’ve used it, the more I’ve realized that the Soothe & Protect Balm from Johnson & Johnson’s Soothing Naturals line is one effective little powerhouse (in a cute container :)
Shaped like a mini anti-perspirant, this balm claims to “soften dry cheeks and patches.” Among its feel-good ingredients are vitamin E, coconut oil, and beeswax. Johnson & Johnson also states that the product is “clinically proven mild, thoroughly tested by dermatologists, and allergy-tested.”
The product has a vaguely herbal, but entirely pleasant fragrance that’s reminiscent of chamomile. I initially used it as a lip balm (works great), but then I recently tried it on both my eye area and on my cuticles.
This product really worked well to relieve dryness around my eyes and it also helped seal and protect my cuticles. The only warning I have for you is that this balm is pretty greasy and definitely isn’t something you’ll want to use on your face if you also plan to wear makeup. However, for use before bed — or if you’re going to be galavanting, makeup-less, in this insanely cold weather, I fully recommend it.
The fact that this little balm does so many things so well has officially landed it in my “Must-Have” list of travel essentials. It adeptly replaces eye cream, lip balm, and cuticle cream — and it safely qualifies as an airline-friendly “solid cosmetic” — and even if an overzealous airport security person did confiscate it, at $4.39 the loss won’t do any real damage to your pocketbook ;)

Has anyone else tried Johnson’s Soothe & Protect Balm? What did you think of it?

Hi mouse! Thanks for visiting! I totally agree. I’m an absolute fool for great packaging - so much so that I have drawers-full of products that I bought because they were love-at-first-sight. Too bad not all of them could have been “love-at-first-use” too!
One of the coolest things about being able to blog for Makeup Moxie.com is to be able to get the word out on what products actually work and which ones are just good lookin’ and better left on the shelf (I know it can be hard!).
