CSI: Lips — What Do Your Kisses Tell?
Did you know that your lip prints are unique? The study of lip prints, known as cheiloscopy, reveals that your lips — just like your fingers — can be used for positive identification, according to the National Institute of Forensic Science.
In his book, Homicide Investigation, LeMoyne Snyder describes a hit-and-run case where a driver struck a woman and then denied that he had hit her. Investigators, however, found a lip print on the driver’s fender that exactly matched that of the woman — a crucial piece of evidence that helped her win her case.
Some people even say that your lip print says something about your personality. Jilly Eddy, the creator of “lipsology,” which is the “art and science of reading personality characteristics and energy levels from an individual’s lip prints” claims that, among other things, she can determine whether you’re creative and artistic, stressed out, or possess expensive taste — just by taking a look at the lip print that you leave after applying lipstick and leaving a kiss mark on a napkin or sheet of paper.
In an interview with a Texas radio station, another “lip psychic,” Maxine Albert, further explained the “art” of lip reading. If the mouth mark is closed, for example, you might be somewhat shy. Conversely, if your mouth mark is open, you’re likely to be more outgoing.
Furthermore, if your lip print contains many lines, you’re likely to have a proactive personality, but sometimes forget to take time out for yourself. If you’re lip print reveals only a few lines, however, you’re a “well rounded person with a keen business know-how that will take you far in your career and finances.”
So I guess it pays off to splurge on technology’s latest and most effective lip plumpers :)
If you’d like to see if you can gain some insight on a few of your favorite celebrities by reading their lip prints — or if you’d just like to check out a beautiful new book, pick up a copy of Kiss and Tell, a Valentine’s Day book that includes accounts of famous women’s most memorable kisses, each of which is “sealed” with their individual lip prints.
Some of the celebrities include Jessica Alba, Katie Couric, Donna Karen, Venus Williams, and more. This book is a fun (and very pretty) addition to any library and, best of all, 10% of all proceeds go towards supporting the American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” campaign. Kiss and Tell is available for $14.95 from Macys.com
