Proactiv at the Airport
When I landed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, I was greeted with a pleasant surprise.
As I made my way down to the baggage claim, I bumped into what was essentially a giant vending machine that uses robotic technology to dispense Proactive skin care products.
Created by Zoom Systems, a San Francisco-based company, the kiosk includes all your Proactiv essentials such as the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and Repairing lotion — all available individually or as part of the classic 3-piece set.
Also available — and of particular interest to the beauty-savvy traveler, was the Mini-Maintenance system which includes travel-sized, airline-friendly 1 oz. bottles of the 3 products mentioned above.
As convenient as this kiosk is, there are a couple of drawbacks. The first is that if you are unhappy with a product, you can not return it to the Proactiv kiosk at your local mall. Instead, you have to call the 800 number located at the bottom of your receipt. Second, the kiosk does not allow you to take advantage of the club member prices you enjoy if you are a Proactiv Clear Skin Club Member.
Oh, and be forewarned that if you buy the Mini-Maintenance travel kit from the kiosk, it does not come with the cute little carrying case that is included with the system if you buy it through Proactiv’s catalog (boooo!).
Nevertheless, it’s nice to know that there is a convenient way of getting ahold of your favorite Proactiv products while traveling.

Hello, I used the Pro ActiveZoom vending machine in Missouri. My daughter is in Los Angeles and I need a list of Malls that have the vending machines near the 90034 zip code. I can make the 40 minute drive and get the 800 number off the machine but if there is a simpler way, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks! aj

Hi Adrienne,
I think this is what you’re looking for: Proactiv Kiosk Locator.
It looks like the closest ones to 90034 are in Century City, Fox Hills and Glendale (there are also a bunch of other ones that are a bit farther away).
Hope that helps!

As stated in the experience above, you do get the cute pouch with the Mini Maintenance system at the kiosk’s in your local mall. As for club membership prices, when you order it and are a “club member” (on auto shipments) you only get the Refining Mask free with your first kit order. At the local mall locations you get it every time! (In reference to kiosk’s not the zoom machines)

Oh, that’s cool! But do you know if the price at the kiosk is the same as the price you’d pay if you were a club member?
I guess what I’m wondering is whether it’s a better deal to join the club (which I suspect) or to just buy the kits from the kiosk (which would be awesome ; )

The Proactive Kiosk however does set you up an account with a reoccuring charge which is how they get you – STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. They will charge you forever and have a contract based system.

You DO NOT get enrolled into the club if you buy it from the mall kiosk. I work at one. It is true that you get set up with an account if you JOIN the membership online or by phone BUT if you stop at your local mall and buy from the kiosk YOU DO NOT get set up into an account. That is the only diff. Also if you buy from a mall kiosk you get the refinning mask free with every kit….thru online or the mail you do not ( only with your first order ). It is slightly cheaper to order online but its a matter of what your prefer…….waitin for your supply in the mail or runnin to your local mall and grabbin it. : )
