Boots No7, the much-hyped addition to Target’s expanding inventory of European cosmetics brands, may make some nice, affordable body butters. Its Stay Perfect Eyeshadow, however, is underwhelming.
Though this eyeshadow is marketed as long lasting and easily blended, it doesn’t really live up to either promise. I picked up one of these eyeshadow singles in Comet, a sparkly pewter shade that, in the package, looked like it had great potential for creating a sexy, smoky eye.
Upon application, however, the shadow feels and looks like it’s low quality. The pigment is neither rich nor blendable and I found it to be a bit on the chalky side. While the shadow performed a little more acceptably when used wet, it still takes a lot of layers of this stuff if you want to build even a little intensity.
I’ve always felt like eyeshadow is one of those cosmetics where you tend to get what you pay for and it’s worth it to spend more on a high quality eyeshadow. If you want to stick to a drugstore budget, however, the $6 you’d spend on Boots’ Stay Perfect Shadow is money better spent on good old fashioned L’Oreal.
Have you been tried Boots Stay Perfect Eyeshadow? I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Hi Miss Moxie!
I haven’t tried the eyeshadow, but the lipgloss is AWESOME!!! I just bought a tube of “High Gloss” lip gloss in “Whisper” and it’s my new favorite–nice not overly shimmery shimmer and it lasts a pretty long time!

Hi Trish, thanks for the comment and product tip. I’m a total lipgloss fiend, so I’ll have to try it out!

I tried the eyeshadow that came in 4 different shades of purple because the cosmetician at CVS told me it was great. It STUNK. I tried it with my Urban Decay eye primer which helped a little, but something always ended up in my crease. The colors did not go on well like you said, and somehow, the purples looked strange, I can’t describe it, but not how I like an eyeshadow to look. I know, it looked cheap, that’s it. I had to pile it on to have any color and they did not blend. I tried it many times with and without the primer (which of course works with everything) but I ended up returning it.

Hi Katherine! Thanks so much for sharing your opinion of this eyeshadow.
I think I understand what you’re saying about the color looking strange. For me, the color really did look different on my skin (as opposed to how it looked in the container). And it’s not just a matter of it being more sheer.
And I agree, if an eyeshadow isn’t going to work with your Urban Decay Eye Primer, it’s probably not going to work well with anything!
