Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara Review
I can respect Benefit Badgal Lash Mascara’s deep, black, inky color and I’ll acknowledge that this mascara, as promised, is buildable and produces formidable thickness.
There are, however, two major deal-killers with Benefit Badgal. First, if you have straight lashes and you curl them, you better forget about all your hard work if you use this mascara. A couple of swipes and your carefully curled lashes are quickly unfurled.
The second major deal-killer: once you apply this mascara, you’ve got a one-way ticket on a fast train to Smear City, USA. Within about twenty minutes of applying BADgal, it was already smudging. In a couple of hours, I had no choice but to try to pass myself off as an otherwise well-coifed raccoon.
I like Benefit Cosmetics, but I strongly dislike this particular mascara and I don’t understand the continual praise it reaps. Save your $19 and buy a different mascara.
Has anyone tried BADgal Lash Mascara? What do you think of it?

i have used this stuff too and it really smudges. i was afraid whenever it rained because the slightest bit of moisture would make it smear. what mascara do you recomend??

Hi, thanks for sharing your opinion on BADgal mascara! I’d definitely be running for cover if I wore this stuff in the rain!
There are a few mascaras I would recommend…but they differ based on what kind of look you want to achieve and what kind of formula that you want (thick, dramatic lashes? defined, but natural? waterproof or non waterproof?)
If you’re looking for something similar to BADgal — but without the smearing, I would recommend trying The Ultimate Mascara Secret (it’s a combination of Maybelline Lash Stylist and Maybelline Lash Discovery).
Other favorites are Rilastil Thickening Mascara, L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara (waterproof), and Revlon 3D Extreme Waterproof mascara.

I have used BADgal mascara and to be honest, I didn’t find that it smudged at all. It did give me VERY thick, dark lashes (so if I wasn’t in the mood for that look, I used a different mascara), but no problems with smearing. I use a mascara base under my mascara, so I don’t know if perhaps that helped.

I tried Badgal mascara and loved it. I haven’t experienced any smudging either! So far, it beats anything that I have tried -I can tell a difference from the first swipe -add a few more and you have great thick, longer lashes!

I just wanted to say that I tried BADgal Lash a couple years ago and had the same experience as you… TONS of smudging. I was pretty disappointed.

I haven’t been keeping very good track of the Benefit brand, so I’m not sure if they’ve since come out with a waterproof version of this mascara (I don’t think they have).
But if they could just fix the smudging and eyelash uncurling problems, I think this could actually be a decent mascara!

I’ve been using this mascara for two years now and I absolutely LOVE it.
It’s the best mascara I’ve ever used, and I haven’t had a bit of smudging.
Of course I do live in Arizona, and there’s not usually a huge issue with rain and moisture here.

Hi Arianne! Thanks so much for sharing your opinion of this mascara. I’ve worn this mascara in Southern CA and in Las Vegas…and unfortunately had the same smudging problems in both places!
Nevertheless, I think that’s awesome that you’ve found a mascara that you love and that works for you ; )

I have always wanted to try this mascara so I finally bought it…and it totally sucks. It smears and smudges. I’m definitely returning it!

I never had a smudging problem with this mascara
I used this mascara till the very end of the tube and i love it. It made my lashes thicker and longer and i received many compliments about it. The only thing that I kinda disliked about it was when washing it off it would stain my towel and the skin under my lashes. But it was nuthing a little deeper face washing could solve.
I even got my best friend to try it out and she loved what it did to her lashes
if you use a little bit of concealer around your eyes it might help prevent the smudging

this MASCARA IS HORRRIBLE IT DOESNT VOLUMIZE OR THICKEN…AT ALL

lashblast by covergirl is the best and its super cheap it makes my lashes huge and dark

Hi, Could you recommend something that does the same thing similar to CG (in terms of price and quality) in the UK? we have maybelline, but i find that the colossal mascara makes my lashes all spidery and the great lash smudges a lot :( which is real unfortunate cause it gets good reviews from everywhere :(

I love this mascara, it’s probably my favorite, I think the problem with smudging may come from the ENORMOUS (slightly weird) brush, you have to be really careful with it. I also love the baDgal blue mascara.
