Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer Review

Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer review

Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer is a member of the new generation of concealers that use light-reflecting particles to reduce the appearance of dark under-eye shadows and uneven skin discoloration. The product also claims to minimize under eye puffiness.

Radiant Glow comes with a nice quality built-in brush and a push button mechanism that dispenses just the right amount of product (quick tip: make sure to tissue off the brush after every use to keep it in top shape). To use the concealer, just brush a small amount under eyes or on any dark spots that you wish to camouflage and then blend by gently patting it into your skin with your fingertip. The result? The appearance of a full night’s sleep…even if you haven’t slept a wink. This concealer did a great job of hiding minor imperfections and banishing the shadows under my eyes. The skin beneath my eyes also seemed to appear smoother and more supple.

This product comes in two shades that adjust to match a wide range of skin tones. If you have fair skin, choose Shade I, if you have medium to tan skin, choose Shade II. The product might look a little too light when you first apply it, but give it a few minutes and it should adjust to match your skin tone. I have olive skin that tans easily and becomes a much deeper shade during the summer (ok, busted, it’s self-tanner, but you get the idea) and while this concealer in Shade II is working great for me, I’m not certain how well it would perform for you makeup moxies with darker skin tones. If you have dark skin and you’ve tried this, be sure to let us know what you think!

This concealer definitely has a new home in my makeup bag. If you want to snag one for yourself, Boots No7 Radiant Glow concealer is available for $12.99 from Target and CVS.

I bought this after seeing it recommended in Good Housekeeping. Do you really think it’s better than any other under-eye concealer? I’m not seeing much of a difference. I bought Shade II, even though I have pretty light skin. Was that a mistake? It seems to match my skin. Have you tried the Mary Kay under-eye concealer?

    Hi Leah,

Thanks so much for the comment!

I really like this concealer and while I definitely think it’s better than some concealers, I think that whether you’ll like it depends on your skin’s needs.

For example, if you’re trying to cover up more serious acne or hyperpigmentation, this concealer won’t provide enough coverage and you’re better off with a concealer that precisely matches your skin tone.

Also, at the time that this concealer came out, it was one of the first to offer a more affordable alternative to YSL Touche Eclat.

And if this concealer matches your skin, then it’s not a mistake!

And, no, I haven’t tried the Mary Kay concealer. Have you heard good things about it?

I’m using it for under eye dark circles, not necessarily to cover up acne. The packaging makes it sound magical, and I can’t tell if it is or isn’t.

I’ve heard good things about Mary Kay concealer, but that was from a saleswoman ;-) The problem with Mary Kay is that the people who are in the know seem to have a vested interest in it, so it’s hard to get the truth about their products.

lol, yeah I think a lot of packaging makes the product inside sound magical! While I really like this concealer, there are others that will do an equivalently good job for under-eye circles. I’ve been wearing Maybelline’s Age-Rewind concealer lately and I find them pretty similar.

Thank you for bringing up the Mary Kay thing…you make an excellent point. I’ll definitely try to do some reviews to give you makeup moxies an unbiased review of the brand’s products ; )

hey, what concealer would you recommend for under-eye circles? I was thinking of getting the maybelline age rewind, but is there anything else you thought was better? and do those yellow coloured ones really work better for dark circles? thanks =)

    Hey dar,

I love the Maybelline Age Rewind…I’ve been using the double-ended one that has regular concealer on one side and a highlighting concealer (great for undereye circles) on the other.

As for the yellow concealers, some people swear by them, but I don’t think that they work for everyone. If you have very pale skin and your under-eye circles have a bluish tinge, chances are a yellow-colored concealer will actually make your circles appear sort of green!

I think the more fool-proof bet is to go for an illuminating concealer that conceals dark circles by reflecting light. The Maybelline Age Rewind that I mentioned is good at doing this as is the Boots No7 Radiant Glow.

Another excellent option is to get a concealer that matches your skin perfectly. I highly recommend going to a beauty counter or a Sephora to have a pro help you to match your skin tone.

For a more budget-friendly option, you can also try L’Oreal Tru Match concealers (which I also love). The L’Oreal display at your local drugstore (or Target, Walmart, etc) should have a color-matching card that makes it pretty easy to find your shade.

    Hope that helps!
