Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads have been creating a lot of buzz lately…and with good reason. They work pretty well. In Part One of my review of Microderm Cleansing Pads, I said that, after using them for only four days, my skin felt and looked a little smoother.
So what are Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads? Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads contain a gentle exfoliating cleanser that you activate by placing the pad under running water. You then use the microderm-polishers on one side to smooth away imperfections before using the “nourishing-stripes” on the other side to seal in moisture. Neutrogena claims that regular use of these pads will yield the same benefits as professional microdermabrasion.
Do Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads Really Work? Ok, disclaimer time: I’ve never had a microdermabrasion treatment. While I have a few skin problems here and there (occasional acne, a little sun damage, etc.), I just don’t feel like my skin issues demand microdermabrasion yet. As a result, my review of this product is somewhat limited since I can’t compare my use of these pads with a first-hand experience with professional microdermabrasion.
Having said that, my experience with these cleansing pads has been largely positive. After using them twice a day for a couple weeks, my pores seemed to appear more refined and my skin felt really smooth…until the acne hit.
The minor breakout coincided exactly with a span of days when I had too little sleep, too much caffeine, and not enough water. While I tried to stick it out with my Microderm Cleansing Pads, I broke down and starting alternating between my good old Proactiv at night and the Microderm Cleansing Pads in the morning.
The result? A sweet and happy medium. Acne gone, skin smooth, and I’m sticking with this skin routine for awhile.
Has anyone tried Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads? Or is there anyone who has tried both professional microdermabrasion treatments and Microderm Cleansing Pads? I’d love to know your results!
Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads are available for $7.99 from Target and most drugstores. You can also pick them up online from Drugstore.com
