Yes, fellow makeup moxies, I know many of you have Fall on the mind, but if you’re not quite ready to stash the self-tanner or you’re a year-around fake-baker like I am, you’ll probably love “The Face” by Fake Bake.
Because this multi-tasker is both a facial self-tanner and an anti-aging skin care product, The Face eliminates the risk of streaking that can occur if you need to apply skin care treatments either before or after your self-tanner.
FakeBake Face’s anti-aging ingredient is Matrixyl-3000, which is supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, fight wrinkles, and boost collagen and elasticity production.
For an “anti-aging” product, I found The Face to be surprisingly light and non-greasy. I don’t have any major aging issues with my skin (yet ;), but this lotion definitely made my skin feel smoother after a few days of applying it.
As a self-tanner, The Face is excellent. The sheer, bronze-tinted formula provides an immediate warm glow that quickly develops into a golden, natural-looking tan. I actually liked this product so much that I went a little overboard and applied it twice-a-day for about four days and my skin ended up looking a little muddy. I could have stopped after Day 2, but I should have stopped after Day 3 :)
Nevertheless, The Face now has a happy home in my makeup bag and I fully recommend it.
Fake Bake Face is available for $23 from Sephora.
Has anyone tried Fake Bake The Face Anti-Aging Sunless Tanner? What do you think of it?

I purchased the fake bake face tanner and used it tonight. So far so good. I put it on about 5 hours ago and it added slight nautral color to my face.
I haven’t had great luck with self tanners because they always seem to make me itch. I will keep you posted on the days to come.
Thanks

I love this stuff and have been using for a few years. When I bought my last one the other day, I was so disappointed they appear to have changed the formula - it is a green color now and to me it doesn’t appear as dark when applied. Has anyone heard of the change? The green color from tube is kind of gross.

Hi Missy, thanks so much for the comment. Sorry for my delay in responding! I’d love to hear how the “fake baking” is going for you? Still using it? Having any problems? : )

Hi there, Sharon! Thanks for your comment as well :)
The last time I bought this product was back in January and it still had that very dark chocolate brown color when it came out of the tube. I know that all Fake Bake products state that they’re best if used within 10 months of purchase.
I guess it’s possible you may have gotten an old one. If I were you, I’d go to exchange it for another one…or even return it and try purchasing it from a different store. I hope that helps somewhat. Please be sure to keep us updated if you do return/exchange it! : )
