Imju Fiberwig Mascara Review

While Imju Fiberwig Mascara doesn’t produce dramatic length or thickness, its clump-free, minimal-smudging, and easy-to-remove formula makes this a mascara worth considering.

What is Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig Mascara? Touted as the “top-selling mascara in Japan,” Imju Fiberwig promises “false-eyelash-like results” by creating a coat around your lashes with its fiber-based, supposedly smear-proof formula.

Does Imju Fiberwig Mascara Work? Yes, but not like it claims it will. Imju Fiberwig certainly didn’t create the look of false lashes. However, this jet-black mascara offers enough length and thickness to make lashes look believably lush and pretty.

This mascara isn’t the strongest in the curl department. While this mascara didn’t completely uncurl my lashes, it also didn’t hold curl tightly, either. If you curl your lashes, expect a little loosening.

In terms of smudging, Imju Fiberwig stands up pretty well with minimal smudging…on a normal day. In extremely hot or muggy conditions, however, this mascara showed some smearage after about four hours (translation: don’t go clubbing in this stuff).

Furthermore, this mascara also showed a tiny bit of flaking. This shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most people — unless you have very sensitive eyes, in which case you might find this mascara irritating.

The Bottomline on Imju Fiberwig Mascara: While this mascara doesn’t deliver on its promise of delivering a “false-eyelash-look”, its decent ability to lengthen and thicken lashes make it a good daytime mascara with the added benefit of being easy to remove.

Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig is available for $22 from Sephora.

Has anyone tried Imju Fiberwig Mascara? What do you think of it?

I used the fiberwig mascara and wrote the company how unhappy I was! The customer service returned my money and sent me 2 more included a DVD on how to apply the mascara. While I totally agree with you about this product, I will not buy it again. I did use what they gave me.
The truly best mascara is still and always will be Mabelline in the pink container with the green lid!!

Hi Rhonda! Thanks so much for sharing your opinion!

Well, that was really nice of Imju to do so much to try to make a customer happy!

I agree with you that Maybelline Great Lash is a reliable stand-by. But if these mascaras were to cost exactly the same, I’d actually prefer Imju Fiberwig over the GreatLash : )

I love this mascara. A friend of mine recommended the mascara to me and I think it’s fabulous!
It has the false eyelash look and doesn’t smudge.
Love it! Especially nice for those corner lashes

    Thanks!

Hi Jill!! You’re welcome! And thanks so much for sharing your experience with this mascara!

Even though I didn’t really feel like this mascara produced the false lash look on me, I’m so happy that you found something that you love…I also love it when we can collect a number of opinions on a product. Hopefully it will help out some of our fellow Makeup Moxies who are considering buying this mascara!

    Thanks again!

Hi, I’m new around here, but I really enjoy your reviews!

I’m having the hardest time finding a volumizing/thickening mascara that can hold a curl.. any suggestions?

  • 8 Jazmin // Jan 13, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Hi J! Welcome to Makeup Moxie, it’s great to have you here!

And it really makes my day to hear that you enjoy the reviews! Please feel free to add your own comments, opinions, questions, etc. any time!

Now as for that volumizing mascara that can hold a curl. Your best bet are waterproof thickening mascaras and I highly recommend my favorite double mascara trick. If you don’t want to fuss with that, try Maybelline’s Waterproof Lash Stylist, Loreal Waterproof Voluminous Mascara, or Diorshow (Waterproof, version also :)

    If you’re looking for a non-waterproof mascara, I’d recommend Too-Faced Lash Injection.

Hope that helps! Be sure to let me know what you decide on and if it works out for you.

    Good luck!

I tried Fiberwig vs. Diorshow at Sephora yesterday at Houston Galleria. Let me tell you I went all around the store to different people asking them which eye they liked and they told me Fiberwig. Here is the catch when using Fiberwig you have to go up and down with the brush not under, out and curl. Not doing to do the eye justice. If you purchase fiberwig LIKE ME…to the lash up and down with brush and OH MY…it looks just like I have on fake lashes….I LOVE THIS!

    Hi Ateya!

Thanks so much for the comment! I’m so glad that you found a mascara that you love!

And thanks for sharing the great tip. It’s hard for me to imagine that Imju Fiberwig could rival Diorshow when it comes to thickness, so I’ll definitely have to test that one out!

I’m new to the site and LOVE< LOVE the hints, tips, and comments! Have to put in my own…..I will FOREVER use Fiberwig after just now trying it out for a week. I’m converted for life. Makes my skimpy straight lashes, long, lush, and amazing! Try this stuff!

Hi memekay! Thank you! I’m so glad that you’re enjoying the site.

And thanks for sharing your opinion on Imju Fiberwig ; )

Hi there. I just discovered this site and love, love, love it! I really appreciate all the reviews and comments — very helpful, especially since I just moved to a small military town and now have to order everything online. No more fun trips to Sephora :(

I have been wearing Blinc Kiss Me mascara for a long time, but I am curious to try Fiberwig. I think the two mascaras will be similar. I also wear Diorshow occasionally, so I am curious to try out Ateya’s suggestion.

    Thanks for the great tips!

  • 14 Jazmin // Mar 10, 2008 at 3:15 pm

Hi Karen! Awww, you’re so sweet and it really makes me happy to hear that you’re enjoying the site. It’s wonderful to have you here!

Do you have a JC Penney nearby? The JC Penney/Sephora’s seem to be cropping up all over the place. Maybe there will be one near you? : )

And I think you’ll like the Fiberwig…the two mascaras are pretty similar and, for me, the reason why Blinc Kiss Me wins out is that it’s even more smudgeproof than Fiberwig. If you try it, please be sure to let me know how it goes!

And please be sure to keep visiting and leave as many comments as you want! Sephora or no Sephora, we’ll make sure you get your beauty fix ; )

I cannot find the fiberwig mascara and I live in minnesota by the Mall of America and the Sephora there has sold out of it and they do not sound like they will get any more. Could someone help me

  • 17 Jazmin // Apr 4, 2008 at 3:12 pm

    Hi Mari,

There’s also a Sephora in the Ridgedale Mall in Minnetonka as well as in the Eden Prairie Centre inside JC Penney. If I remember correctly, those locations aren’t too far away from where you live.

If you can’t find Imju Fiberwig there, you can also snag it online

I totally found this product to do what it claims..maximim application was 3 coats;begining with applying at the tips first, then working with the build up. Many people will stop me to just look at my lashes;you must be careful to not apply too much as bending will occur. yes i would purchase product; would like to submit a before and after look.I am really into lash care so i find that in some cases you do get what you pay for..

Hi Kymberly! Thanks so much for sharing your opinion on this product!

  • 20 Noodles // Jun 17, 2008 at 4:02 pm

This mascara is wonderful! But one thing people have to consider is that everyone’s eyelashes are totally different, different in length, texture, etc. So some mascaras might not work as good for one person as it would for the next. Which is why there are so many differen types of mascaras, so find the one that’s best for your lashes. But, Fiberwig lives up to its reputation for me, and I personally think its AWESOME!! : )

  • 21 Jazmin // Jun 17, 2008 at 6:01 pm

Hi Noodles! That’s a great tip. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
