CoverGirl LashBlast Review
Updated 01/23/08 — I recently reviewed the waterproof version of this mascara and I strongly prefer it over the original formula. You can check out the review here: Waterproof Lash Blast Review. For my review of the non-waterproof formula, please read on…
What is Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara? CoverGirl Lash Blast is CoverGirl’s most recent answer to Maybelline’s Define-a-Lash and Revlon’s 3D Extreme. With its extra-large, rubber-bristled brush and patented volumizing formula, Lash Blast promises to “max out” lashes for the “ultimate big lash look.”
So does Lash Blast work? This mascara works…but it’s not a superstar.
- Length and Volume. In addition to offering decent length, Lash Blast offers respectable volume that’s superior to most non-waterproof, volumizing drugstore mascaras.
- Mostly smear-proof and smudge-resistant.
- Clump-free. Feel free to load this stuff on. It takes a lot to make it clump.
- Ease of Removal. Comes off easily with soap (or in my case, Cetaphil) and water.
- Loosens Lash Curl. Though not as big of a problem for Lash Blast as it is for most non-waterproof drugstore mascaras, I found that this mascara still uncurled my lashes slightly. The good news is that this problem can be remedied somewhat by “over-curling” your lashes and then allowing the Lash Blast to loosen the curl a bit.
- Some flaking after about 6-8 hours of regular wear.
- Brush Design. Though the uncommonly big brush does a good job of thoroughly coating lashes and preventing clumps, the lack of a tapered tip on this blunt-ended brush makes it a little difficult to get to those tiny and corner lashes. This isn’t a deal-breaker, but I feel like it’s a significant enough detail that CoverGirl shouldn’t have overlooked it.
The Bottom Line on CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara: The curling issue prevents me from fully endorsing Lash Blast as a drugstore alternative to Too Faced Lash Injection, which I’ve grown to really like. In all other respects, however, the two products are actually pretty similar.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly deal on a volumizing mascara that’s easy to remove, Covergirl Lash Blast is a good choice.
Covergirl Lash Blast is available for about $7 from wherever you get your drugstore beauty fix.
Has anyone else tried Covergirl Lash Blast? What do you think of it?

Hi…so I’m looking for some mascara advice. I’m currently using the waterproof Maybelline Lash Expansion mascara – I’ve learned from experimenting that I can only use waterproof mascara, because my lashes are ultra straight, and mascaras do not hold the curl unless they are waterproof. However, I’m looking for something that will make my lashes look really dramatic – very long and very thick. Any advice?
2 Jazmin // Nov 5, 2007 at 7:03 pm
Hi Laura! Thanks for the question!
I’m totally with you in the super-straight-lash club : )
My best advice for you is to try out The Ultimate Mascara Secret, which involves layering two different waterproof mascaras in order to achieve a pretty dramatic lash-look.
If you find that the Ultimate Mascara trick is too high-maintenance or it doesn’t work well for you, the mascara I’d recommend is Diorshow Waterproof Mascara. I think it’s one of the best when it comes to building thickness and providing really jet-black, inky color.
Good luck! And be sure to stop by again and let me know how it goes (or if you have anymore questions ; )

Hey – I also have really straight lashes! I want my lashes to be long, thick, and curly…is there a non-waterproof mascara that’ll do all this, without taking all the curl out of my lashes?
4 Jazmin // Nov 6, 2007 at 11:57 pm
Hi Kara! Long, thick, curly lashes…it’s every Makeup Moxie’s dream, isn’t it? lol
Though it’s getting better, I think the #1 problem with non-waterproof mascaras is their tendency to uncurl lashes.
The non-waterproof mascaras that I’ve tried that do the best job of retaining lash curl (while adding length and thickness) are 1) Too Faced Lash Injection 2) the CoverGirl Lash Blast reviewed above; and 3) Revlon 3D Extreme
Quick Tip: One of the best ways that I’ve found to preserve eyelash curl when using a non-waterproof mascara is to apply light coats of mascara and allow it to dry between coats (make sure to keep an eyelash comb handy for clumps).
Thanks for the great question!

hey i have really fine lashes and im tired of the spider look even with brand new mascara. i have been told that i have wonderful lashes when i go and get my makeup done but i want the everyday look to be as good as a professional what mascara should i use thats good on not clumping fine lashes?
6 Jazmin // Nov 18, 2007 at 8:32 pm
Hi Tex! Thanks so much for the question!
After getting fed up with clumpy lashes, I finally discovered the key to getting clump-free: A good eyelash comb. I consider it one of the most important tools in my makeup bag. You can read more about it in this Guide to Eyelash Combs.
When you have a good eyelash comb, you can often get away with wearing mascaras that tend to get clumpy.
As for mascaras, some of the best when it comes to resisting clumps are Maybelline Lash Discovery and Rilastil Volumizing Mascara.
If any of you other Makeup Moxies here have suggestions for Tex, please feel free to weigh in!

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to this mascara?
10 Jim Tower // Dec 13, 2007 at 6:33 pm
I would like to know where you can find this product. Please post an answer.
11 Jazmin // Dec 17, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Hi Jim! Thanks for the comment!
The places that I’ve personally seen where you can buy Lash Blast are CVS, Wal-Mart, Target, and at my local Smith’s Grocery Store. I haven’t been into any of the other drugstores lately, so I’m not certain whether they carry it.
Will get back to you on that one ; )
For any of you other Makeup Moxies that have tried Lash Blast, please feel free to leave a comment letting us know where you bought yours : )
12 Jazmin // Dec 17, 2007 at 4:46 pm
Hi Robin! Sorry I missed your comment there!
I haven’t had any problems with it so far, but if anyone else has, hopefully they’ll post it here.
Have you had an allergic reaction to it? Or are you worried that you might be sensitive to the product?
13 Sara // Dec 28, 2007 at 6:10 pm
I know that the cover girl lash exact i think it was the queen latifa or however you spell made me have an allergic reaction. I had hives on my eye lids which looked like misquito bites and my eyes were swollen. My dermatologist told me to watch our for mascara’s that have all the extra curling and longer lashes stuff like that. So hope this helps someone…
14 Jazmin // Dec 29, 2007 at 12:38 pm
Hi Sara!
Sorry you had an allergic reaction to that mascara!
Have you found a mascara yet that works for your sensitive eyes?
And thanks so much for sharing your opinion; hopefully it will help some of our fellow Makeup Moxies!

Hi, I just discovered this site and love it! I personally love the “Lash Blast” and in my perpetual quest for the perfect eyelashes, I have tried almost EVERY mascara out there (perhaps even more than you have reviewed on this blog). I find that as I get older (I am 50 but don’t look it at all – really) my lashes are getting finer in texture and that drugstore mascaras can uncurl them. My lashes generally have a lot of curl on their own and I have never needed to use a lash curler.
Well, all that said, Lash Blast is one mascara that does not uncurl my lashes, even when I apply a lot of it. What I love about the Lash Blast is that so far it is making my lashes thicker and lusher than just about any mascara I have tried. Yes, even lusher and denser than more expensive mascaras like Diorshow! The one thing about it that I don’t like is that it tends to flake off a bit after a few hours, but when a waterproof version comes out that should be minimized. Also, it doesn’t make my lashes quite as long and defined as some mascaras, so I might try combining it with a comb mascara like Maybelline Lash Stylist or L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara. I am leaning towards liking the L’Oreal Telescopic more these days. Using a comb mascara with this product will also help get around the fat brush issue so that I can coat the edges of my eyes better. I noticed your advice to combine 2 different mascaras – one a comb and one a brush variety – I do that all the time in my quest for the “perfect eyelashes”! I suppose I am trying to duplicate what my lashes looked like with any old mascara on them when I was younger (I was fortunate in that regard). So far the Lash Blast is coming close! I will let you know what I think when I combine it with the comb variety.
16 Erin // Jan 6, 2008 at 3:12 pm
In response to Robin, I believe I’m having an allergic reaction to Lash Blast right now! I just started using this product this week and now, approx. 7 days later, I’m miserable. Tell me your experience and I’ll bet it’s similar to mine…
17 Shelly // Jan 8, 2008 at 6:40 am
I just started using Lash Blast. I really like the product. However, when I worked out with my trainer, he kept telling me that my mascara was running. Any suggestions on a good mascara that will give me the dramatic look that I am looking for that will hold up through ALL activities?
18 Renée // Jan 8, 2008 at 9:30 pm
Well, I combined the Lash Blast with a comb mascara and the results were very good as long as I put the Lash Blast on first and then comb it out a bit with the other mascara!
19 Jazmin // Jan 9, 2008 at 12:54 am
Hi Renee! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the site. Thanks so much for visiting and sharing your own “Makeup Moxie” tips!
That’s great to know that Lash Blast worked well for you using the “double mascara” technique…I also recently got ahold of the waterproof version, so stay tuned for a review of it soon!
And, btw, no matter what age you look, I have no doubt that you look gorgeous ;)
Erin..yikes! Sorry to hear that you’ve had an allergic reaction to this mascara. If it continues, be absolutely sure to visit your doctor and keep those peepers healthy!
Hi Shelly! Thanks so much for the question! And while your trainer might want you up and running, we definitely don’t need your mascara to run, too ;)
The absolute best advice I can give you is to skip the mascara altogether! Not only do you risk having it run while you workout, but you’re going to end up having to take it off and reapply it after your workout (time-consuming and rough on your lashes).
If you want to look a little more bright-eyed and polished for your workout, I’d recommend just curling your lashes.
And if you absolutely, really, really insist on wearing a mascara that won’t run while you workout, I’d recommend waterproof versions of Maybelline Lash Discovery or Lash Stylist (or I layer them using my double mascara trick that Renee and I were referring to above :).
20 Shelly // Jan 9, 2008 at 4:27 am
Thanks for the advice, Jazmin! I have never used an eye lash curler before, it looks like it will pull out your eye lashes. However I will certainly give it a try. I love the the double mascara trick. That will be going in my little bag of tricks! :)
Shelly
21 Jazmin // Jan 9, 2008 at 7:15 am
Shelly, you’re so welcome! I understand how lash curlers can certainly be seen as crazy little contraptions when you’re not used to them.
But, seriously, a good eyelash curler (like the one by Shu Uemura) is probably my #1 makeup bag essential. It may take you some trial and error to get the hang of it, but just as a quick tip: if you ever feel any discomfort or a “tugging” feeling while curling your lashes, just stop what you’re doing or you will risk pulling out those precious lashes.
And something important I forgot to mention earlier when you were asking about a mascara that won’t run while you’re working out…I can’t believe I forgot to recommend Blinc Kiss Me mascara! I think it’s one of the absolute best when it comes to a smearproof, smudgeproof mascara and, believe it or not, it actually comes off easily with warm water. You can read my full review here.
Swipe that on, and your trainer won’t have to play “cosmetics cop” with you anymore ;)

Where can I find Lash Blast, every drug store I go to they don’t have it.
23 Jazmin // Jan 10, 2008 at 6:11 am
Hi Cathy, thanks for your question! I noticed that my local Smith’s grocery store was well-stocked and I was also recently in a Walgreens that had Lash Blast available. You can also try out Target and Wal-Mart. Hope that helps! Good luck!
24 KISSkitten // Jan 11, 2008 at 5:58 am
I recently tried Lash Blast (the big orange tube was impossible to resist!) Initially, my lashes looked incredible – big, full and very lush. Unfortunately, the formula began flaking and after only two hours, most of the mascara had migrated into my eyes – leaving my lashes bare and my eyes extremely irritated. Foolishly, I gave this product a few more chances but the end result was always the same. I am anxious to try the waterproof formula – and promise to post a review.
25 Jazmin // Jan 11, 2008 at 7:04 am
Hi KISSkitten! Yes, that crazy orange tube is hard to resist…at first, I thought it was kind of hokey, but after having it sitting around on my bathroom counter, I’ve decided that I definitely like its unique, retro-ish design.
And, eck! Sorry to hear that you had problems with this mascara…but I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of the waterproof version!
Thanks so much for the comment!
26 champagne // Jan 17, 2008 at 11:08 am
has anyone ever tried tarte’s lights camera lashes mascara?
27 Jazmin // Jan 17, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Hi Champagne,
Thanks for your question!
I’ve only used it a couple times, but I liked it. From what I remember, it’s more of a lengthening and separating mascara than a thickening one.
28 Pouneh // Jan 29, 2008 at 9:01 pm
I was/am thinking about buying this but i have a little question….I have naturally long dark curly lashes and i really don’t use Mascaras the one i use on daily basis is Cover girl’s natural lash mascara it is great even thu i spend more time comping my lashes out haha they tend to get crazy when i sleep ans tangle together… when i use any mascara my lashes look TOO fake and also my eyes r very sensitive. For those n8s i want to just use mascara as my eye makeup (it goes on as eyeliner and mascara for me) what do u suggest i use?
29 Trish // Jan 30, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Pouneh….girl, I wish I had your problem!!! :) If I had your lashes, I’d be able to save myself a lot of trouble and money and not have to mess around with mascaras and eyelash curlers. You’re so lucky and I’m so jealous!
30 Trish // Jan 30, 2008 at 1:16 pm
BTW, I tried this mascara–LOVE it!! It stays put, holds curl, and makes your lashes big and fat–what more could a girl want? …except for maybe Pouneh’s lashes!
31 Jazmin // Jan 31, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Hi again, Pouneh and Trish!! Pouneh: I totally agree with Trish…I would LOVE to have your lashes : )
Ok, from what you said, it sounds like you want a mascara that will offer more subtle definition and will be less likely to irritate your eyes.
First off, if you don’t want your already luscious lashes to look “too fake,” as you said, then Lash Blast isn’t the right mascara for you.
Another thing you can try is a plain, clear mascara (Maybelline and Max Factor both make them). It will help untangle your lashes and offer subtle definition without being over the top.
You might also like the new Lancome High Definicils. It helps define your lashes (but still looks natural) and provides a sort of “fanning” effect.
But, in general, if you don’t want your thick lashes looking too fake, try to stay away from the thickening/volumizing mascara.
Hope that helps!
And Trish: I’m so glad you’re loving this mascara…what do you think of the crazy orange tube? I’ve heard some complaints that the handle is so thick that it can be difficult to control.
32 Pouneh // Jan 31, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Awww thnx yes i do love my lashes and thnx A LOT for the suggestion since i already have my clear Mascara i think i will try the Lancome High Definicils i will let u know when tried it :)
Trish dear thnx funny thing is i am SOMETIMES jealous of my BF’s eyelashes they r SUPPER curly and long hahaha i always comb them for him cs they get tangly (L) . I am glad now u have this Mascara and u can make ur lashes look amazing :)
33 Trish // Jan 31, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Pouneh, you’re so sweet! And yes, it’s funny (and SO WRONG) how men have the curliest, longest, darkest lashes. I am so jealous of my husband’s lashes–long, thick, dark, and curly–SO not fair!
Jazmin–yes, I do love the big crazy orange tube, but I do agree that the handle is a bit too chubby–especially since I’m so used to my ultra thin Lash Discovery handle. The thick handle is a bit difficult to control and will take some getting used to–in fact I’ve already dropped it while applying mascara and ended up with a nice black mascara skid mark across my cheek….NICE!
34 Jazmin // Feb 1, 2008 at 11:30 am
Pouneh, good luck with the High Definicils! I hope you like it…another (money-saving option : ) is the Maybelline Lash Discovery that Trish is talking about.
And Trish, I agree, I think the handle might take a little getting used to. I’ve dropped it, too…but managed to avoid the mascara mark across my cheek, LOL!
35 cathy // Feb 1, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I tried lashblast I liked the way it made my eyelashes look but I could not get it off. I use make-up removing cloths as well as make-up removing lotion but it would not come off. I am no longer using Lashblast!
36 Pouneh // Feb 1, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Trish- u r sweet urself…and yes it is unfair to begin with men shave and fix their hair and wow they r ready us…we need to put on makeup etc…even thu my dear boyfriend ALWAYS takes longer to get ready than i do hahha…what is ur husbant’s nationality? long eyelashes has A LOT to do with where r u from :)
Jazmin_ luckly my mom has the Lancome Definicils (not the High one) it was pretty good and natural looking but there is NO WAY i am sharing Mascara’s with my mom not with my so over the top sensitive eyes haha but i will try teh Maybelline one as well they always have GREAT ones! and the price is the great thing also the fact that i don’t have to go to the mall to get it…i will let u know when i will try it. THANK you for everything and keep on doing what u do best ;)
37 michelle // Feb 2, 2008 at 11:48 am
this mascara is good but hard to wash away
38 Trish // Feb 3, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Hey Pouneh–yes, one’s ethnicity really affects eyelash quality. My husband is Mexican with long perfect lashes and gorgeous curly dark hair with totally natural highlights…AARRRGGGHH! Two things that a little Asian chick like myself will never ever have! : ‘ ( Boo!
39 Jazmin // Feb 4, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Hi Cathy and Michelle! Before you toss your Lash Blast, you might want to try a better makeup remover. Lately, I’ve been using Lancome Bifacils, which has been getting this mascara off without any problems. I’ve also tried it with Almay remover pads, which also works. Hope that helps!
Pouneh, you are such a little sweetie, you’re so welcome!! And good call on not sharing mascara with anyone…even if it is with your mom : )
And Pouneh and Trish…I am so with you two on the thing about guy’s lashes. It’s SO not fair! I like to think of it as the “Peacock effect”…the male species, for some reason, gets better plumage than we do, lol.
And P.S. — my boyfriend also has long, super thick, but also super soft lashes. Totally not fair, lol
40 Trish // Feb 4, 2008 at 9:04 pm
hahaha! “Peacock effect”! That’s really good. BOYS SUCK!
41 Jazmin // Feb 12, 2008 at 1:44 pm
lol, hi Trish!! Sorry I missed your comment there…and, yes, when it comes to unfairly long eyelashes (and cleaning up after themselves : ) boys DO suck!

I have to say I HATE this mascara. I hate it so much that I don’t even like Drew Barrymore anymore for endorsing this product. This is the worst mascara I have ever tried. You apply layer after layer, waiting for it to show up. I have awesome lashes, i really do. The rest of me is not all that great but I can honestly say my lashes ROCK. They are long and curly and their only problem is that they are blonde. Usually I can slap on any old mascara and they will look fabulous, but Lash Blast actually makes them look shriveled up and sad. My girlfriend tried it too and hated it. I am actually shocked to see all the positive reviews here , when I personally think someone out there should be warning people!
I am a new mom and on a budget. I don’t usually allow myself those little luxuires like mascara, and I am SO sad that I wasted 7 bucks on this CRAPPY mascara. Am I the only one here who feels this way???
45 Jazmin // Feb 27, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Hi Kina, thank you for sharing your opinion of this mascara!
I can understand why you feel so strongly about this…no mascara should ever leave your lashes looking “shriveled up and sad”! (lol, I love the way you described that, by the way ; )
I, too, would be very interested to hear if anyone else had a similar experience as yours.
I’m wondering if it’s possible that you got a “bad” tube of it…maybe one that was old or had been subjected to extreme temperatures.
Another thing you can try (if you haven’t already), is to try combing out your lashes between coats of this mascara.
If that doesn’t work and you’re still hating this mascara, I really hope you can return it. You shouldn’t be stuck with a product that you don’t want!
46 Shasta // Mar 13, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Jazmin, I googled “cover girl, mascara, drew” and found this wonderful site! I’m so happy I did and can’t wait to read more of your reviews. After getting my hair done (a perfect time for heading to the drugstore) and after reading your review on LashBlast, I was excited to finally find it in my little town. I really wanted to get the waterproof formula, but had to settle for the original. That’s okay, I hate to have to get “rough” trying to get waterproof mascara off. I do like this very much. After re-wetting my hair, per usual after I leave the salon, washing my face and applying fresh makeup, the grand finale was applying the LashBlast. Again, really like it, but a week or so will be the real test. I will say the “fat” brush will take a little getting used to. Also, what sold me on this site was your review on “brand store mineral makeup” and hearing you were a fan of Bare Minerals/Escentials fan. I love their foundation (and many other of their products) but just didn’t like their mascara at all. Again, thanks, and I’ll keep reading!
47 Jazmin // Mar 13, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Hey Shasta, I’m so happy you found this site too!
Thanks so much for leaving a comment and please be sure to come back often and say “hello.” : )
Definitely come back and let us know your final decision on the Lash Blast…I agree that the brush can be a little awkward at first.
And which Bare Escentuals mascaras did you try? I tried the weird Brushlesss mascara a few years ago and was really disappointed with it.
48 Shasta // Mar 14, 2008 at 11:08 am
Thanks for the welcome Jazmin! I’ve tried Bare Escentuals “Big Tease” mascara and just wasn’t impressed with it all. I didn’t like the brush and thought the product flaked and smeared too much. For the most part, I like BE products, but my favorite by far are the foundations and eye colors (and of course the fantastic brushes!).
So far I’m really liking the LashBlast. Doesn’t seem to smudge, long lasting, definitely easy to wash off. I would suggest that they make the end more pointed to get the lashes in the corners of the eye.
I never knew that the reason lashes lose their curl is because of using non-waterproof formula! But I can live with that, especially when the performance in all other aspects lives up to expectations.
49 Jazmin // Mar 14, 2008 at 11:43 am
oooh, and don’t forget the Mineral Veil. It’s one of my all-time favorite face powders ; )
I totally agree…I’d love it if the Lash Blast brush had a more tapered end. While it’s obviously not really necessary, it would just make life a little easier.
And as for the lash-curling thing, waterproof mascaras do tend to hold curl better…but for those with naturally curly lashes, this isn’t as much of an issue. Plus, one of the good things about Lash Blast is that it does hold curl better that other non-waterproof mascaras : )
50 Shasta // Mar 17, 2008 at 1:41 pm
How could I forget Mineral Veil! Absolutely love it.
51 Jazmin // Mar 17, 2008 at 4:04 pm
It’s great stuff! I still haven’t found a suitable alternative for it…”value” or otherwise ; )
52 Victoria // Apr 1, 2008 at 4:49 pm
I currently use the Mabelline Great Lash with the curved brush. I find that the curved brush is very handy and helps get into the corners. However, it clumps your eyelashes together and doesn’t do much for volume or lengthening, but it does curl them. Also a major downer is that they leave your eyelashes feeling brittle. After using this mascara for about 5 months, they changed the texture and look of my eyelashes, and they feel rough and look brittle.
My question is, do you think I should try Lash Blast to achieve a more thick, longer lash look?
53 Jazmin // Apr 1, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Hi Victoria,
Thanks for the question! And, yes, you can definitely give Lash Blast a try if you’re looking for thicker, longer lashes.
You might also like Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara…it has ingredients in it like Vitamin B5 (panthenol) that’s supposed to help moisturize and soften lashes…plus it does a pretty good job of lengthening lashes as well.
Hope that helps!
54 suzie // Apr 8, 2008 at 8:03 pm
so far, so good. love lash blast although in my case, a lash comb is a necessity. they clump pretty quick but it gives me the thick, almost dramatic lashes that i wanted. i am one of those cursed with thin, short, straight eyelashes. although i can’t say that CG lash blast is the answer to my prayer, i think it is a pretty decent mascara.
55 Jazmin // Apr 9, 2008 at 4:01 pm
That’s a fair review : ) Thanks so much for sharing your opinion, suzie!
56 Kendra // Apr 27, 2008 at 2:30 am
This mascara is horrible. It makes my lashes clump together and it takes forever to put on. I have to comb them out in between coats. Also it is very flaky and always gets in my eyes irritating them. I wouldn’t suggest this mascara to most people.

Cover Girl Lash Blast was such a disappointment that I returned it. The brush was so large, it kept getting mascara on the skin above and below my lashes! It was very clumpy. I switched to Maybelline 3D and like it very much.

This is a correction. I typed Maybelline not Revelon! Sorry!

Holy CRAP how do you get this stuff off? I was totally LOVING this product. I mean utterly AMAZING how well it works but I just went through VASELINE, MAKE UP REMOVER, BABY OIL, and SOAP and this stuff WILL NOT come off of my lashes and that is very very upsetting…

I have to say ever since I tried the Lash Blast Waterproof mascara I couldn’t go back to anything else.
That is until today when I just got home from a Patch testing in Toronto (an allergy test) and I found out I’m allergic to it!
I’ve been getting ezcema on my eyelids and it spread to my around my lips for 8 months, which is probably around the time I switched to this mascara.
After a scrath test and a patch test they found out why! I’m so happy now because I hope my eyes no longer itch, swell and get red. The spot where they tested the mascara was itchy, I turned to look in the mirror and the nurse and I were both astounded that the spot had blistered in a matter of 2 DAYS!
So girls if you noticed any rash/hives/dry skin or pimply bumps on your skin, IT COULD be your makeup. I also want to say I have had small breakouts all through highschool and beyond, until a few years ago I switched to mineral foundation (liquid, because the powder applicators are a potential allergen) and I have had clear skin since!
They dont care whats in the makeup cause most people don’t react. They just care about selling it.
Don’t get me wrong tho, for all those who don’t react, this mascara was my fav!!!!!! and I always stick to waterproof, no matter the kind, it lasts all day.
MY TIP : to remove mascara easily run HOT water on a wash cloth and pinch your eyelashes between the cloth for a minute. The mascara will easily wipe off with a few pinches, CAREFUL not to burn your eyelids with too hot H20!
be careful with your makeup ladies, there are alot of harsh chemicals in them

Hello! I just had to add my experience with this mascara…like every other lady out there I’m on the permanent quest for that magical mascara that plumps, lengthens and curls with one coated application!
I was excited to try this new mascara when I saws the commercial for it with Drew Barrymore…concept sounded great. Unfortunately…the greatness stopped there. The brush in unwieldy and impossible to use at the corners of your eyes due to that large blunt end. I applied it to my lashes and time and again wound up with more mascara on my lids than on my lashes. The brush is so large and thick that if you have very fine or thin lashes that are short there just isn’t enough clearance between your short lashes and your lids. I was a mess and when I finally got cleaned up, the result was nothing to exclaim about. I thought it was a really poor mascara dressed up in a fancy, yet completely non-functional, new package.

When this mascara first came out, I was totally impressed by it! I love, love, LOVE mascara…. its one of the things I cannot live without (besides chapstick)!!!
After moving to AZ, and having a pool at the apt, where I live, I decided to buy the waterproof lashblast… Yeah.. its not that waterproof… it smudges under my eyes, after to dunks underwater.
I actually went and bought a revlon mascara, thats waterproof and is a bit better than this one.
I also just got 2 faced lash injection… LOVE IT!!

I’m 57 years old and I’ve tried hundreds of mascaras. But, Lash Blast does exactly what they say. It’s great! I actually have fuller lashes when using this product. I am sold, and hopefully they will continue this product and not discontinue just when you find something you like and it stands up to their commercials. Nothing else I’ve used comes close. And for the price, you can’t beat it. I can’t say enough about this mascara. It beats the top brand, very expensive products. As for the corners, just turn the brush on it’s end and brush up the lash. That’s how the makeup artist do it. Again. KEEP THIS PRODUCT. It’s amazing.

I definitely think I am having an allergic reaction to this Lash Blast. I bought it Monday and tried it on only my left eye to see how it compared to the brand I have been using. It really irritated my eye immediately..lots of itching.. so I removed it within 5 minutes of applying it. Yesterday my eye itched all day long and today I awoke to a swollen red red red eye (completed bloodshot.. you can’t even tell my eye is white underneath). My optometrist prescribed me some antibiotic/steroidal eyedrops and told me to buy some Zoditor eye drops for the itching (very annoying!!). I’m not sure why this particular type caused such a reaction as I have never had problems with any other mascaras. Anyone else have similar reactions? Any suggestions on a similar product?
