Makeup Moxie Goes Pink for October

As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Makeup Moxie has “gone pink” by joining the growing list of websites who have declared their dedication to raising breast cancer awareness through their affiliation with Pink for October.

By joining Pink for October, I’ve made a commitment to further educate myself on the issues related to breast cancer and to pass that knowledge on to someone I know.

So far I’ve been learning a lot and I’ve got some great stuff to share with you — including the lowdown on a number of fabu cosmetic companies that have really stepped up and decided to take action in the fight against breast cancer.

Stay tuned to find out more about how you can do something to help find a cure for this disease and, as if that’s not enough, perhaps even pick up some new beauty loot in the process ;)

Some Quick Facts About Breast Cancer:

  • After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S.
  • The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer during her lifetime is about 1 in 8
  • In 2007, approximately 178,480 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.
  • About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year.
  • Currently, there are about two and a half million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.
A big thank you to Pink For October for bringing websites together for such a worthy cause. The lovely badge that you see above was designed by Kim from Not Crazy, Just a Little Unwell.
