Are You Hardcore?

Black Friday 2006/Photo: MSNBC.com

Armed with an arsenal of credit cards and a budget-minded will of steel, do you battle for breathing room as you jockey among the consuming masses?

Can you weather the punches from over-sized Coach bags as you lithely avoid trampling small children?

In other words, are you a hardcore Black Friday shopper?

I’m not. While the allure of Black Friday deals is sometimes too powerful for me to avoid, the madness of it all can make me feel bah-hum-buggish…and that just shouldn’t be the way one kicks off a season of good cheer.

If you feel the same way, be sure to join me on Friday for the first installment of the Merry Moxie Holiday Guide. It will include some great tips for having a “beauty-full” holiday as well as some great online deals, so that you can get a (stress-free :) jump-start on your holiday shopping.

However, if you’re going to come check out the Merry Moxie Holiday Guide, there’s a couple of very important things that I’m asking you to do:

  1. Bring your favorite beverage. I’ll be having a Grande Non-fat 3-pump White Mocha :) and
  2. Make sure that you have your favorite face mask in stock in your bathroom (my ProActiv Refining Mask is ready to go).

The guide will up extra early in the morning, so that even the most hardcore shoppers among us can be sure to get in on the fun before they head out to brave the After Thanksgiving Sales.

Please make sure to stop by, I promise that it will be a fun and refreshingly sane start to the holiday season :)

Even though I love shopping, I’ve always been afraid of Black Friday, and always boycott shopping on that day. Last Black Friday I had to be at the mall, and it wasn’t even that bad! But the malls in Vegas have better parking than other cities, so that probably helped.

By the way, have you checked out the new Town Square mall?

Hi Jeni! Definitely agree with you that we have great parking here. A big part of my aversion to Black Friday comes from my years spent in L.A. and the O.C. (talk about parking problems! lol)

Yep, I was at the Town Square opening. Have you been there yet?

It’s pretty nice, but kind of confusing to get around in (then again, I have a really terrible sense of direction :)

P.S. — for the non-Las-Vegan Makeup Moxies, Town Square is Vegas’s newest shopping mall. It’s now the best place to shop that’s off The Strip (good beauty shopping includes MAC, The Body Shop, Sephora, Origins).

    :)

I drove through Town Square the other day but I didn’t get out and walk around. It looks really nice, but it does look confusing. I would need a map to figure out where the different stores are located. I’ll probably go back there next week.
