When Beauty Kills

Woman in red
“Cléopatre essayant des poisons sur des condamnés à mort” (”Cleopatra testing poisons on condemned prisoners”)
by Alexandre Cabanel - 1887

With her black kohl eyeliner, custom-blended perfumes and milk and honey baths, Cleopatra certainly deserves her place in history as a preeminent makeup moxie.

In this painting by Alexander Cabanel, the Egyptian teen queen is devastingly beautiful…literally. Flawlessly coiffured and chillingly unruffled, she watches with an almost bored indifference as poisons are tested on condemned prisoners (View the full image).

Tonight, pass on the deadly poisons, but opt for embodying some Cleopatra-esque sensuality and smarts.

When you spot a hottie who can hold your attention, trap him with a long-lashed wink of the eye and then finish him off with some killer conversation. Who knows? You just might find your Mark Antony…or rekindle a long-time romance with your beloved Julius Caesar ;)

But before you embark on your Saturday night adventures, see what these Modern Queens of Makeup have to say in this week’s featured posts from the Beauty Blog Network:

Have a wonderful weekend, makeup moxies!

Hi Trish! This painting is sinister, but oh-so-glam! Glad you like it, too!
