Perfume can make a divine present — but giving it as a gift can be tricky.
While you should always let the personal tastes of your gift-getter be your guide in choosing a perfume as a present, I’ve put together a list of what I feel are the top ten fragrance gifts of the year.
Whether chosen because of its novelty, innovation, brilliant design, or palpitation-inducing packaging, each fragrance gift on this list possesses a definite “wow” factor:

8. As charming as it is lavish, the Viktor & Rolf ‘Flowerbomb’ 2-Tier Confectionary Set (pictured above) swivels open to reveal an Eau de Parfum Spray, a mini Eau de Parfum, and a Bomblicious Body Lotion. Bomblicious, indeed. ($95, Nordstrom).
7. Diesel’s ‘Fuel for Life’ Femme Pocket Chain makes a fashion statement while allowing you to tote your perfume with you wherever you go. Set also includes three perfume refills ($75, Nordstrom).
6. Juicy Couture has a few adorable holiday gift sets, but the top pick is easily the Juicy Couture Holiday Dresser Set.
This irresistibly cute, pink- and black-striped dresser is packed with a small Eau de Parfum with a glam atomizer, a travel-sized Royal Body Creme, a jar of Sumptuous Sugar Scrub, and a solid perfume mirrored compact. Available for $150 from Nordstrom.
5. Dior is offering some very gift-worthy holiday sets, the best of which feature its Miss Dior Cherie perfume.
From an elegant, pre-wrapped bottle of the perfume to a totally swoon-worthy keepsake jewelry box
filled with Miss Dior Cherie goodies, these make utterly gorgeous gifts for the Miss Dior Cherie in your life (Prestige Vanity case costs $150 from Nordstrom).
4. The Clinique Happy Photo Bottle takes the cake for this year’s best personalized beauty gift. Customize a bottle of Clinique Happy perfume with the photo of your choice ($52, Clinique.com).
3. The Missoni Perfume Necklace. Apparently fellow Makeup Moxies Liz and Shannon aren’t the only ones pining for one of this season’s biggest “It” items.
The Missoni Margherita Must Have Solid Perfume Necklace is sold out virtually everywhere, but if you absolutely must have this “must have,” you can still try your local Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, or, as a last resort, eBay (but if you win it on eBay, be prepared to pay much more than the retail price of $50).
2. Let your lucky gift-getter decide which perfume she wants by giving her one of the most goof-proof perfume gifts available: The Sephora Scent Sampler and Gift Certificate Set.

While I’d obviously love, love, love the Bond No. 9 sampler, I’d worry that if I actually got that as a gift, I’d spend the rest of Christmas day in a corner sampling all my new perfumes : )
