Though I’m generally skeptical of moisturizers that claim to control oil while hydrating the skin, it doesn’t stop me from wanting to try out Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer.icon

Formulated with “citrus honey moisturization technology,” this oil-free face lotion from Smashbox is supposed to absorb excess oil while nourishing your skin with a cocktail of vitamins and anti-aging ingredients.

Sheer Focus comes in five sheer shades and includes SPF 15 sun protection.

You can snag a bottle for yourself for $30 from Nordstrom.icon

Has anyone tried Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer, yet? What do you think of it?

After trying a sample of Smashbox’s new tinted moisturizer I went out and bought a full size tube. This is by far the best tinted moisturizer I have used. It’s very light and does a pretty good job with giving you an even complexion. It is almost as good as my MAC studio tech.

Thanks so much for sharing your opinion, Kay! I think you just convinced me to go out and buy this today (not that I needed a lot of convincing, but still ; )

Hi, I have been using this in the “Luminous” color, and so far I really like it. I tried all the tinted moisturizers at Sephora, and this was the only one that really felt like a moisturizer that was tinted vs. foundation that was supposed to moisturize. When I am wearing it, it doesn’t feel like I have anything on except a very light moisturizer.

Awesome! So is “Luminous” a shade that’s formulated for a specific skin tone? Or is it a translucent shimmer lotion?

I love this product. I’m 47 and live in Florida. I have skin that’s a little oily a very fair. I’ve been using Laura Mercier and Senna. The Senna is much heavier than the Smashbox and the Laura Mercier is beautiful but too oily for my skin; even in the oil free product. The Smashbox has the oil absorbing ingredients that help keep my skin looking fresh all day. This product is very sheer but I’ve found when I go out in the evening and want a heavier coverage I can just add a little powder and it offers that exra coverage. This is great, you won’t be dissapointed if you’re a little on the oily side like me or find yourself touching up during the day. I love it!
