Calvin Klein Eyeshadow Review

ck Calvin Klein on Sephora.com

Eyeshadows are like people or books. They can look utterly gorgeous on the outside, but ultimately, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

ck Calvin Klein Tempting Glance Intense Eyeshadow gets an “A” for packaging. I bought this single shade eyeshadow in “Chameleon,” a pale, beigey-gold color, that comes in a super-slick compact with a built-in mirror.

When first applied, this eyeshadow was a little sparkly — but still very pretty and wearable. Within about twenty minutes, the finish settled down into more of a smooth, seductive sheen that I really liked…it’s just too bad that it didn’t last.

Within 3-4 hours, this eyeshadow started to fade and crease. Within six hours, it was pretty much gone.

An eye primer will, of course, help extend the wear of this eyeshadow. But at $16 for a single shade, an eyeshadow should simply perform better than this one did.

Pretty packaging aside, I’m disappointed enough with this product that I wouldn’t buy it again.

Have you tried ck Calvin Klein Tempting Glance Intense Eyeshadow yet? What did you think of it?

Thanks for this review, it was very useful for me, since I was going to buy this product. Now, I understand, it is better to forget about it. I have the same problem with most eye-shadows: huge price and no effect.

You’re welcome! When it comes to eyeshadow, I think that you generally get what you pay for — though there are certainly exceptions (like this eyeshadow by Calvin Klein).

I actually liked CK eyeshadows, I used them with UDPP, and they lasted me 16 hours. I applied it at 7 am and took my makeup off at 11-12ish, and it was still there intact. I also liked the face that they are extremely blendable, I bought them in Darkened Green, Best Brown, Azure, Gold Lame, Moonstone, Sandstone I really liked the colors, and they blended in flawlessly:)

Wow! We had totally different experiences with this eyeshadow!

I used my CK eyeshadow by itself and with Laura Geller Eye Spackle…which did extend the wear of this shadow for about 2-3 hours.

And as for blendability…it was alright, but I found it to be just a little bit gritty. I just wasn’t “wowed” by it, lol

Anyway, thank you for sharing your opinion of it!

As someone who has worked in the makeup industry for years and has encountered hundreds of women on a DAILY basis complaining of the same issue as stated in your review, I have a solution. Everyones BODY chemistry is different. Everyones skin is different. What happens to an a particular eye shadow that you wear can turn out the exact opposite for the next person. I.E. If It creases or fades on you, it could last 12 hours on the next person. I’ve seen it happen. What should be taken into consideration is your body chemistry, how oily your eyelids can get, and the ingredients in the eyeshadow. If the eyeshadow is emolient and has a creamier texture, and you have oilier eyelids, and you aren’t planning to use a PRIMER, maybe you should stay away from it. At the end of the day, makeup is a very practical practice. If you were painting a house with unfinished wall, you’d know not to paint over a bare surface. You’d surely use a primer for a more finished result that looks AMAZING and is built to LAST. Why should one put any less effort into yourself?

    Hi Jazmin

Non lasting eye shadow, crease and for some, water proof mascara that fail to meet expectation, there is likely to be 1 culprit and that is oily eyelid. For some ladies like you and me, we are blessed (i prefer to be blessed) with sebum producing glands around our eyes lids. I learnt the truth from a ck beauty stylist. To overcome that, I tried primer like eye gel or creme eyeshadow. It works. One more plus point, we need not worry about crow feet :)
