Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara Review
You’d be hard-pressed to find a tube of mascara that exudes as much style as the sleek new Le 2 de Guerlain.
Encased in glowing gold and twisted to feel as if it were molded to fit your hand, the dual-ended tube is an object of beauty in and of itself.
But is the mascara itself as brilliant as the packaging in which it comes? Not quite.
This is a good mascara, but it’s not without its problems. Le 2 de Guerlain gets credit for its lengthening, low-smudge formula that washes clean with cleanser and warm water. Furthermore, the little mini-brush (probably the smallest I’ve ever seen) lives up to its promise of allowing you to reach even your tiniest lashes.
The factors that prevent this mascara from being exceptional are its slight tendencies to uncurl lashes and, to a lesser extent, cause clumping.
You would think that a mascara that is designed to be applied with two separate brushes (one for overall lengthening and one for precision application) would layer fairly easily. Once this mascara dries, however (and it dries quickly), any additional coats are likely to clump.
The solution? Work fast and be ready with your eyelash comb.
If you have naturally curly lashes and you’re looking for a good non-waterproof lengthening mascara, you may want to give Le 2 de Guerlain a try.
If non-waterproof mascaras tend to uncurl your lashes or you’re looking for dramatic volume, step away from the mesmerizing gold tube (I know it’s hard, but you can do it).
Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara is available for $35 from Nordstrom.

You’re welcome, Jaime! It’s a decent mascara and I think that there are going to be some Makeup Moxies out there who will really love it (and, some who will probably hate it too, lol ; )
But you are right, it’s not a Holy Grail mascara ; )

I agree with your review. If you apply a light coat of this mascara, it’s ok, but any more than that and it can clump up!
It does provide nice length, though.

Wow, I disagree! I tried this and I’m in LOVE!
I have short, thin lashes and it lengthens them so much. The first time I wore it, my boss said it looked like I had fake eyelashes on.
Not to mention, the quik-dry effect is great because I can swipe it on and not have to worry about it touching my other makeup during a speedy application in the morning. I say everyone should try this! I don’t leave home without it.

Hi Calypsa & Shar Shar, thanks for sharing your opinions of this mascara!

I LOVE this mascara. I do agree about the clumping on seconds coats, but one coat really does it! Everyone has complimented me on it!

That’s another vote in favor of Le 2 de Guerlain (that just rolls of the tongue, doesn’t it?)! Thanks for chiming in, Amanda!

I bought this mascara and was not satisfied with it. Although it does lengthen well, it clumps so much!
I found the small brush adorable and useful, and it did get my smaller hard-to-reach corner lashes. But when I used it, I also had a clumpy little black ball stuck to my small Asian lashes. :/
I even tried washing the brush in water. Still clumps like crazy.

I am still not sure whether to give this bad boy ago!? I have short, thin, flat, & unnoticable lashes, expecially without Mascara. I have tried Dior, Chanel, Estee Lauder and still not found my match. I do find that i always have smaller lashes that are left hanging below the others, and no mascara has managed to lift those to create a fan of ful lashes. Would anyone recommend this Mascara for lashes like mine. Im desperate for a decent mascara!!! HELP

i bought this today but will try it when i can be bothered to take my mascara off lol.
But for anyone with straight lashes, i strongly suggest “Maybelline XXL”. its reaally really good.

Hi ladies, sorry for my delay in getting back to you! I responded to you each individually below ; )

QuEeN_aShLeY_pOo, I understand the clumping…it seems like the only way around it is to work fast (which may not be worth it ; )

SkyeBeautyFeen , do you curl your lashes? If you don’t already, curling your lashes will help to get them all lifted up evenly before you apply your mascara.
Because you said that you’re looking for full-looking lashes, I’d recommend skipping the Guerlain L2G mascara since it’s more of a lengthening mascara than a thickening one. You might want to try out my Ultimate Mascara Secret. It remains one of the best ways to get really full, dramatic-looking lashes…plus it involves using a mascara that has a tiny brush (similar to Guerlain’s) that helps you reach even those tiny lashes. Hope that helps!

lol, Issy, when you do get around to trying this mascara, I’d love to hear what you think of it!

Jazmin, Where do you buy the ULTIMATE MASCARA SECRET, I have never heard of it.

Hi Fern, thanks for the question. The “Ultimate Mascara Secret” isn’t a mascara. It’s a technique used for applying mascara. You can read about it by clicking here : )

This mascara is decidedly average. Too average for the price it asks. I actually got it for free, but am getting rid of it because I know I’ll never use it when I have better ones lying around.
My roomate was excited about this mascara too, but when she saw it on me she just shrugged & told me that my lashes usually look better.
SO, it’s okay and all, but there are just better…I wouldn’t recommend.

Ah! That “ultimate mascara secret” is what I usually do. I use that tiny Maybelline Lash Discovery & then coat my lashes with either L’Oreal Lash Architect or Lancome Hypnose & they look great! I’m glad to see other people do that too. It really works. Although honestly, I wait until the first coat gets a little dry then put the second one on. I don’t find it gets clumpy, but rather it’s even more voluminous, but maybe I just have freak lashes! Who knows.
