Maybelline Double Face Perfector

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector is a double-ended tube that features a full coverage concealer on one side and an illuminating liquid highlighter on the other.

Though the highlighter is intended for use as a brightening lotion for the corners of your eyes, your cheek and brow bones, and even your lips, I found that it wasn’t quite pale enough or shimmery enough for me to want to use as a highlighter — but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Instead, the highlighter is ideal for brightening under-eye circles. The light, slightly runny formula makes the highlighter super easy to blend and it doesn’t settle into fine lines or feel dry.

For darker under-eye circles, blemishes, or slight discoloration, the lightly moisturizing concealer provides decent coverage without looking cakey or chalky. Furthermore, the four shades of Double Face Perfector should match a fairly wide range of skin tones.

Overall, this 2-in-1 concealer and highlighter is a drugstore superstar and I highly recommend it.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector is available for about $8.50 from most drugstores.

Have you tried Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector? What do you think of it?

The only thing that completely annoyed me about this product was that I ran out of the concealer side first, and I’m left with the highlighter. But the highlighter is great!

lol, carissa, it’s too bad that we can’t share a tube…at the rate that I’m using the highlighter, I’m sure that I’m going to run out of it long before I use up the concealer ; )

Do you find that the highlighter is light-colored enough for you?

Great review, I have been wondering about this product!

    Thanks, Critty! It’s good stuff ; )

hm, I’m fairly surprised by this review. I never expect too much from maybelline’s face products, but I think I’ll give this a shot once my CG concealer runs out.

Jazmun, I definitely find the highlighter to be light enough. I’m using the Light shade, and it works well with my fair complexion. The thing that makes it work for me I think is how thin the mixture is, not cakey in the undereye like a lot of concealers.

lol, sarahPUFFY, my little makeup cynic! I really like this concealer, though I think it might be too light for your darker skin tone (seriously, how hard is it for them to throw in a couple more shades??). Would love to hear what you think of it, if you try it ; )

Hi again, carissa_aurora! Got it, thanks for your answer! And I agree…it’s the light texture of the highlighter that really makes it easy to use.

I’ve never had luck picking my shade for them, its pretty depressing! I can’t help being a hag about it. Thank god the mascara makes up for it. my concealers are usually the darkest of the medium range, so I may have to check in-store just to see [and maybe swipe on my arm, before the rentacops chase me down]. n.n

Awww, that sucks…I don’t blame you.

LOL, I don’t think you’ll have to much luck testing this one in the store, honey bunny, it’s sealed in one of those plastic and cardboard package things.

I finally found this product in my shade and I’ve been using it for a week now. I really like it! It’s a very light liquid but the coverage is good. The highlighter does a great job subtly brightening my face. I had swithed to the maybelline mineral concealer a few weeks ago but I found after a few hours the color turned grayish under my eyes. I guess it was combining with my eye cream.

Like my favorite shade of lipstick, I’ll end up buying another tube and keeping it readily at hand - one in my purse and another on my vanity.

Wow! One for the purse and one for the vanity…I view that as very high praise for a product! Thanks for sharing your opinion on it!

And I had a similar experience with the mineral concealer…I think it as a tendency to look chalky.

I LOVE this concealer. It is the only one I’ve found that actually COVERS zits and doesn’t leave them looking like a big dry patch. The light is a little too light for me, which is surprising, since makeup isn’t ever light enough for me, but the light-medium is PERFECT! I don’t use the highlighter much, but when I do, I find putting a tiny bit on the bridge of your nose makes your eyes brighten, and diminishes dark circles quite a bit!

Great tip for using the highlighter! Thanks for sharing it : )

I agree, the concealer does run on the light side. I wish they would come out with just one more deeper shade for darker-skinned gals!
