Mother’s Day Beauty Tips

My mom has always been (and still is) full of excellent advice. Whether it’s thoughts on life, love, health, cooking, money or beauty, it seems like my mom has a nifty fix for just about anything.

So in honor of Mother’s Day, I thought it would be fun to share just a few of my favorite beauty tips that I learned from my mom:

  1. Don’t over-pluck your eyebrows. You never want to have that “permanently surprised” look.
  2. Always try to look nice when you go out because you never know who you’ll bump into. It’s a form of Murphy’s Law: If you go out in your pajamas and don’t wear any makeup, you’re almost sure to run into that guy you have a major crush on.
  3. Being rude or cruel makes even the most physically beautiful person ugly.
  4. Even if you’ve had a long day of work and taking care of your kids, a spritz of perfume and swipe of lipstick will perk you up for a night out with your husband.
  5. When you finally find the perfect lipstick, buy as many as you can otherwise you’ll regret it when it’s discontinued.
  6. Always remember that you’re beautiful.

Thanks for all your great advice, Mom. I love you lots!

And to all you wonderful moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!

P.S. Makeup moxies, do you have any fave beauty tips that you learned from your moms? Feel free to leave them in the comments ; )

My mom always told me to make a mental check before I go out..
    1)Deodorant
    2)Perfume
    3)Mascara
I admit, I put on more than that now, but when in university and in a rush to see my supervisor, it was the 3 most important things to do before I ran out the door.

OMG!!! This totally makes me miss my mommy! I have a couple good tips from my mom: 1)Always take good care of your teeth because your smile is one of your greatest assets. 2)You always look prettier when you smile 3) Your hands and nails are a big part of your appearance–take good care of them 4) You don’t need a lot of make-up to be beautiful 5) If your eyes and nose aren’t clean, it doesn’t matter how beautiful or perfect your make-up is–the first thing people will see are boogers and eye loogies 6) Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!!

Oh, and I just remembered another interesting one that I originally learned from my mom….don’t forget to take as much care with your neck as you do with your face. Even if you’re face looks smooth and has minimal lines, a wrinkled neck can be a real age-giveaway!
