Lancome’s new black lipgloss

You’re starting to see it everywhere: deep, dark, cherry-black lips.
Though the thought of black lipstick tends to conjure up Marilyn Manson flashbacks, the new dark lip is decidedly more lush, glossy and sophisticated.
To help achieve this hot lip look, Lancome’s new artistic director for makeup, Aaron de May, has created a sexy new lip color set that’s scheduled to launch in November.
The set includes a Color Fever Lipstick in Piha Red, a shade which was inspired by the signature red soles of Christian Louboutin shoes. In addition, and perhaps even more interestingly, the set will also include a black Color Fever lipgloss.
You can wear the products separately or slick the lipgloss on over the lipstick to achieve a multi-dimensional dark lip (no Marilyn Manson here).
Only 500 of the sets will be available in the United States, exclusively at lancome-usa.com, the five Lancôme boutiques and at the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street location in New York City. If you’re going to be in New York and you want to get on the waiting list at the Bloomingdale’s on 59th St., give them a call at 212-705-2886 to have your name added.
So what do you think of the dark lip trend, Makeup Moxies?

This stuff is CRRRRAZY! I would love to try it, but I don’t think I’d be able to pull it off.

lol, yeah it is kind of crazy! And it’s definitely a bold look. If you want to try a look that’s similar, but more wearable and not quite so dramatic, you could try a deep plum lipgloss : )

I called Bloomies and ordered 2 sets. I am beside myself. This makes the original Chanel Vamp look like Halloween for 1st graders.

Andrea, am I one of the only people who hasn’t read Twilight yet? I’m adding it to my reading list!
LOL, Lisa, way to score what’s got to be one of the most highly sought-after products of the year!

Great scoop, but I’m really not into this fall trend. No oil-slick look for me. I’m going for plum this fall.

Thanks, Erin!
Yeah, the look is definitely not for everyone.
I’ve been experimenting with it a little bit (and don’t feel quite right about it, lol), but you can never go wrong with a pretty plum for fall : )

I have this, it doesn’t actually go on black. It’s more of a light purply pink.
