Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup

While I’m not a believer and generally not a big fan of “smart” makeup that claims to transform into your “ideal” shade, I actually really like Revlon’s new Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup.
I tried this makeup in its deepest shade and was pleased to discover that Beyond Natural provides just enough coverage to even out skin tone and cover minor imperfections.
Because the color is so sheer, the five available shades should be able to match a wide variety of different skin tones…in fact, the color is so sheer that almost anyone can wear the deepest shade as a bronzer (I found it to be similar to Tarte Sunburst).
In addition to natural-looking coverage, Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup also provides light hydration and a fresh, but not overly-dewy finish that’s ideal for normal to slightly-oily skin types.
If you have oilier skin, this tinted moisturizer is actually a very good choice. However, you’ll still need a primer or a couple blotting papers throughout the day to combat the oil slicks.
Definitely recommended, Revlon Beyond Natural is available for about $13 from Walgreens and most drugstores.
Has anyone else tried Revlon’s Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup yet? Planning to try it? Feel free to share your thoughts ; )

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this makeup! I tried Almay Smart Shade makeup and hated it so I didn’t have very high expectations for this one. But it’s great! Just enough to color to make your skin look “finished” but not at all overdone. Definitely thumbs up :)

Hey Trini, glad you’re loving this makeup!

Hello again:
I am VERY interested in trying this makeup…It would be my first liquid makeup. I am still in love with my Maybelline mineral power powder foundation, but this looks like a tinted moisturizer and foundation in one (what i have been looking for). My only question is How well does this cover? Lately my skin is going back to normal, which means i will not need much covering up to do (can’t say how happy i am to c my allergic reaction days r coming to the end) But since i am fair even a lil redness stands out, will this cover it or i have to use powder over it, or concealer under it?
ps. How come u r not replying to the Maybelline mineral power posts anymore? I love reading ur responds :)

Hi Pouneh! It’s always great to hear from you : )
Hope all is well!
Compared to other tinted moisturizers, this one by Revlon is pretty sheer and it works best for perfecting only slightly uneven skin tone. If you only have a little redness, it should probably work just fine (more redness, and you can try buffing on a little of your Maybelline Mineral Power or patting on a little concealer).
And my apologies for neglecting our Maybelline post!! Things have been a little crazy around here, so I’ve been terrible responding to comments, but I’ll be sure to get over there and get caught up!

R there any other very good TMs u think i should try?
aww it is ok…i know u r busy, but i got worried a lil since u disappeared…but i noticed ur new posts so i figured u r just having a supper busy summer ;)

Awww Pouneh, you’re just the sweetest! Thanks for understanding : )
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before, but some of my favorite tinted moisturizers are the ones that I mix up myself — whether I mix my moisturizer with a regular liquid foundation or with mineral makeup. Check out this link. You can try making your own TM using your Maybelline Mineral Power and one of your high-power sunscreens : )
As for regular TM’s, some that you might like are Stila’s tinted moisturizer, Neutrogena Glow Sheers, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer, and the TM by Boots.
If you should find that you want a little more coverage (but something that’s still not as heavy as a regular foundation), you might also like the liquid version of Maybelline Mineral Power makeup : )

thank u so much, u r always a GREAT help :)
I have actually tried making my own TM, but didn’t really liked the coverage didn’t really do anything. Also i feel like i am wasting my dear powder foundation hehehe… Next week (i am still in Canada) i will get the Revlon beyond natural makeup, If it didn’t work out the way i hope i will get the Maybelline one (i already know my shade which is a plus, and it costs less for more product)
I will not try Neutrogena or Boots simply cs they r hard to find in Canada! As for Stila i really don’t want to spend 30$ on a Tm :)
Can u believe they only have the foundation, mascara, and concealer from beyond natural line in Canada? I am dying to buy the tinted lip balm…and they just added this line about 2 weeks ago….hehehe
8 Pouneh // Aug 8, 2008 at 11:43 am
ps. I just came across another promising looking choice…The Cover Girl’s Smoother foundation (they also have a Tm) Have u ever tried any of these?
9 Jazmin // Aug 9, 2008 at 8:05 pm
You’re so welcome, babe!! Oh, and I’ve been meaning to ask you whether you moved to Canada, yet! Hope all’s well there… even though they don’t have the Lip Tints yet ; ) From what I’ve heard, even though products may be released later there, they’re usually available eventually…so maybe the tinted lip balm will be coming soon??
Yes, I’ve tried the Cover Girl TM. It’s actually pretty nice, but even more sheer than the Revlon and more hydrating. If you can find them, I think Rimmel, Jane, and Milani also have TM’s. The only one out of those that I’ve tried is Milani and that was quite awhile ago and the only thing I remember about it was that it was on the greasy side.

Awww u remembered! well i am coming back to US on 14th….i will move here next May…it is just i am getting my beauty needs r8….don’t want to fall in love with something i can’t get here….i just realized they do have boots here thu :)
I m8 go with Cover girl foundation (not the TM) i ma sure it is a better choice price wise, and coverage…i m8 still just try Revlon, and then return it (or m8 fall in love?)
Yes they will have the lip and eye products soon, but it is annoying to know they come way later…
11 Pouneh // Aug 10, 2008 at 2:24 pm
ps. sadly i can’t try the CG one…I just tried on many shades (basically all of them) but their foundations r cool toned, and i am a neutral undertone girl…BUT Maybelline’s classic ivory is a perfect match i will try their Pure makeup instead of the CG one :) I will let u know how both Revlon and Maybelline worked out for me :)
12 Jazmin // Aug 11, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Yay for Boots in Canada! Do they have the freestanding Boots drugstores (which I love and wish we had here in the U.S.)?
I’ve heard good things about the Maybelline Pure makeup, but still haven’t tried it yet, so you’ll def. have to let us know how it goes!
And, Pouneh, if you’re for an actual foundation (not just TM), you might also want to try out L’Oreal True Match, if you haven’t yet. There are *lots* of shades available and there’s usually a really handy shade-matching card attached to the display. It’s one of my fave drugstore foundations (and it also mixes really well with moisturizer, if you want it to be more sheer ; )
13 Pouneh // Aug 11, 2008 at 6:04 pm
humm i haven’t checked yet…but in their shopper’s drug marts they have all Boots products it is even a big hit on their website :)
I remember trying their pressed powder foundation, and it was very nice…only if i can remember my shade…i have seen the cards they do help…WOW soooo many options, but that is better than nothing r8? I know CVS is good with cosmetics return so i m8 just try all 4 (maybelline pure, and mineral power, L’Oreal true math, and revlon’s beyond natural)
I do want to stick with my Mineral powder cs it is working great for me in any weather…I will decide when i get back…it is funny how i take make-up shopping to seriously, and in general i hardly wear noticeable makeup like eye shadows or eyeliners haha
My fiance thinks i am crazy and obsessive cs i never get tired of the cosmetics sections even if we go shopping every day :)
14 Jazmin // Aug 12, 2008 at 12:33 pm
lol, you’re totally right, Pouneh, options are good! But at the same time, it sometimes feels like, “so much makeup, so little time!”
Your CVS plan sounds like a good one : )
LOL, and my boyfriend is totally the same way! He’s even come up with crazy tricks (especially when he’s in a hurry) for trying to get me through a drugstore (or Target, Walmart, etc) without passing by the beauty aisles (it doesn’t work, though, lol)
15 Pouneh // Aug 13, 2008 at 11:34 am
LOL i know what do u mean…i trick him 2…but sometimes when we “need” something he says ohh lets go to— (somewhere with no beauty products)…but i always get my way :D In the end i know they find our lil obsession cute ;)
16 Jazmin // Aug 13, 2008 at 3:07 pm
LOL, I totally do that too!! (like tricking him into going to the mall/casinos with Sephoras in them : )
And I think you’re right. They find our obsession cute. I think it’s also helped that whenever the BF compliments my eyes/lips, I remind him, “Oh yeah, it’s the makeup I bought last week when you were sitting around, bored at Sephora ; )
17 Pouneh // Aug 18, 2008 at 6:45 pm
So i finally got Revlon’s and Maybeline’s mineral power liquid foundation…Revlon’s delivered a beautiful natural finish, it doesn’t rub off , and stays true no matter how much i ran around in college trying to find my classes (it is very sunny in the OC as usual)
I dot it around my face and blend it with my fingers or a brush:) r8 now i don’t have much to cover so i can’t say if this will cover for those bad skin days…

How well does this product work on African American skin? I’m about the complexion of Toni Braxton. Will this makeup work for me? I love the idea of it self-adjusting and being a light coverage. Thx!
19 Lisa B // Sep 2, 2008 at 11:24 am
i was wondering…. i sometimes get break outs during menstruation. I’ve been using maybelline pure foundation. the one thats 50 percent water. i just got the revlon one today and need to know if its mineral infused or at least oil free and non pore clogging. thanks!!!!!
20 Rebekah // Sep 8, 2008 at 9:16 pm
i own this product and am very impressed with it. I don’t use it everyday, because I am such a fan of my mineral makeup, but it IS nice I find when I want a little MORE coverage, to use under my mineral powder
21 Jazmin // Sep 9, 2008 at 8:38 am
Sasha and Lisa B, my apologies for the delay in responding to your great comments!
Sasha, I think this product will work well for you. Though it doesn’t actually self-adjust, it’s a fairly deep tone, but sheer enough that it should work for most African American skin tones. If you try it out, please be sure to stop back and let us know! I’d love to hear what you think of it.
Hi Lisa B,
If you only really get breakouts when you get your period, it’s likely that it’s just all all those hormones that come with your monthly visitor that are causing the breakouts. Unfortunately, changing your makeup is unlikely to help (sorry, I know that sucks!)
As for Revlon Beyond Natural makeup, you may have luck with it because it has a light consistency and is probably less likely to clog pores.
However, just be aware that different people can react differently to certain products and it might not work for you.
Just because a product has minerals in it or claims to be oil-free or noncomedogenic doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t irritate your skin or cause breakouts.
Here’s an excellent article, if you’d like to learn more : )

Hi Rebekah, thanks for sharing your opinion of this makeup…and for sharing the great tip!
23 lala // Oct 1, 2008 at 9:35 am

24 Mohini // Oct 1, 2008 at 5:55 pm
do you know if it has oil in it? or if it clogs your pores?
cause i do have fairly clear skin, but the second i put oil on it, it breaks out like crazy .. so i just wanted to check before i go out to buy it?
25 Jasmine // Oct 13, 2008 at 7:09 pm
I was wanting to try this out, but was wondering, is there a loose or pressed powder that goes along with it?
26 Nina // Oct 17, 2008 at 1:23 pm
is this non comedogenic?
27 Kara // Oct 30, 2008 at 4:23 pm
WOW! This is amazing, I really like how it looks natural and gives you that everyday radiant look. I also like how weightless it feels and does not wear off during the day. =D Definitely thumbs up for me!
28 Arielle // Nov 3, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Hi I was just wondering if any African-American women have tried this product and how well does it work for you?
29 Raveena // Nov 11, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Hello!
can I wear the Revlom beyond natural make up (with primer, foundation, concealer, and highlighter), everyday? (like 5 days in a week at least)?
30 Megan // Nov 20, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Would this product be suitable for young teenagers wanting to wear makeup or is it too bold and noticeable?
I was wondering because my 13 yr old daughter wants to start wearing this foundation.
Can you help?
31 Pat // Dec 15, 2008 at 9:42 am
I bought Beyond Natural 230 medium and find it very drying. I have normal skin type. It also turns a yellowish tint. Sorry, but it’s a good concept anyway.
32 Sharlene // Dec 22, 2008 at 10:59 am
I Saw someone wearing Beyond Natural and ask them what is it your wearing,Their face looked flawless.i am waiting anxiously to buy it for myself

This makeup SUCKS… I liked it at first because it really did blend in naturally, but all of a sudden one day I put it on and it was DARK and I was already on my way to work so I looked horrible all day. It works sometimes, and sometimes it is too dark.
