Ellen the new face of Covergirl
Hot beauty news of the day: Ellen Degeneres is the new face of Covergirl.
This will be Ellen’s first venture into the world of beauty advertising and though her lovably goofy persona may not make her an immediately obvious choice to represent a beauty brand, Ellen certainly is beautiful and will undoubtedly create a huge buzz.
Esi Eggleston Bracey, vice president and general manager of Global Cosmetics for Procter & Gamble Beauty, released a statement saying, “Ellen is the quintessential CoverGirl. She is smart, confident, natural, and beautiful from the inside out. Her beauty and down-to-earth personality fit perfectly with what CoverGirl represents. We look forward to our partnership…”
The ads featuring Ellen will appear in January 2009.

I loveeeeeeeeee Ellen…she is just soo lovable and true to herself…i am so happy to c her as a cover girl instead of the same old pretty models, it is time for a change. She can represent REAL women :)

Absolutely! I love Ellen, too. It was brilliant of CG to snag her as a spokesperson.

Like Pouneh said, it’s great to see a real, regular woman being the spokesperson for Covergirl. I hope other makeup companies will follow suit in the future and feature spokespersons who are more like the average woman!!!

I totally agree with you, hannah : ) It’s definitely refreshing to see a spokesperson who’s chosen not only because she’s beautiful, but because she’s smart, funny and easy for so many women to relate to (though she has a heck of a lot of star power, too! : )
Covergirl is definitely sending a strong, positive message!

I agree with all of u ladies…CG is making a smart choice first was queen Latifah now with Ellen…she is one of those stars u can truly relate 2 and admire without seeing them as someone from another planet :) i can’t w8 to c her commercials AND beauty adds

I’ve always loved Ellen and I am so glad to see that CG has such a diversity when choosing their spokes models, and not the same kind of models that look the same.
Loved it when Queen Latifah was made into the CG model and now Ellen.. Love it!
