Moxies, rock the vote!

Moxies, rock the vote!

For American makeup moxies (and our non-American moxies who’ve been following our election with interest ; ), today is the big day.

If you haven’t early voted, be absolutely sure to get to your polling station and cast your ballot.

While I ask that you direct any last-minute campaigning and political rants to the political blogs, I will take advantage of the highly charged political atmosphere to remind us of a few things that we can all agree on, regardless of our our political beliefs:

1. Amy Strozzi has done a killer job on Sarah Palin’s makeup (just had to throw that in because it’s true and this is a beauty blog, after all ; )

2. This election is truly historic: For the first time in America’s history, we will have either an African American president or a female vice president. This fact is an unbelievably powerful testament to the progress our country and culture has made towards racial and gender equality in America.

3. This is your opportunity to be heard. With the troubles our country is having right now, it’s hard not to feel helpless and, sometimes, even sort of hopeless. Exercising your right to vote is the most powerful thing you can do to actively ensure that you help choose the person to whom we’ll entrust our country for the next four years.

This is serious, moxies, and it’s history in the making. Just make sure you’re a part of it by casting your vote :)

In my home country our vote is useless because everything has been decided before, top-down… But we are required to vote to ensure a nice turnout, or we’ll get in trouble. So I think American people should really appreciate the privileges they have. And go vote!!!

I already voted too!!! It’s such a precious right we all have and it’s such a good feeling to stick that “I Voted” sticker on yourself as you leave the poll booth!

…and yes, I wholeheartedly agree — Sarah Palin’s makeup ROCKS — so flawless and beautiful. If they win, do you think they’ll hire Amy Strozzi as Palin’s permanent MA? :)

I chose early voting and spent 2.5 hours waiting in line to vote on Saturday.

    It’s good to vote!

Hey fellow patriotic moxies!! : )

Randi, I so agree with you. And I feel like the power of our right to vote has been magnified by this election. It’s amazing.

    Trish, I don’t know, but they’d be crazy not to re-hire Amy : )

Diva, hope you had a good book with you ; ) Even though I was leary of the lines, my BF convinced me to early vote last week…and from the looks of the lines wrapping out of the polling places that I saw today, I’m glad I did!

Liz, I’m so sorry I missed your comment yesterday, but it is certainly moving. Thank you so much for speaking up : ) When it comes to our government, Americans spend a lot of time criticizing and complaining — but it’s the very ability to do so as well the ability to have a say in who leads us that is such an amazing blessing and one that we should never take for granted. Comments like yours really help put things in perspective, so, again, thank you so much : )
